Once again, DSEI, one of the world’s premier defence shows will be held in London at the Excel Centre in September, 2021. Every two years this event connects governments, armed forces, industry leaders and entire defence and security supply chains, on a global scale. This provides the industry with the opportunity to network, a platform for business, to observe new technology and participate in live demonstrations.
Industries and arms manufacturers who intend to exhibit and trade in Section 5 Prohibited articles such as section 5 firearms and ammunition along with certain other military and defence items are required to apply to the Metropolitan Police for the grant of a temporary Registered Firearms Dealers Certificate and also to the U.K. Home Office for a Section 5 authority. This must be done in a timely manner as the process can be quite protracted and further compounded by the number of applications submitted on the lead up to the show.
Force5 Carriers are extremely experienced in the application process and would be happy to assist with the relevant paperwork in order to gain temporary U.K. dealer status and Home Office Section 5 approval. It would certainly be advantageous to oversees exhibitors to have a UK based representative familiar with the process to assist and submit the application on their behalf.
Please also be aware that the demand for authorised carriers for arms and other restricted items within the U.K. is also understandably very high immediately before and after the show. We therefore recommend that you make the necessary applications as early as possible and also book your secure transport to and from the show site well in advance.
